"The Terminator" was one of the biggest hits of the 1980's and was about a cyborg, played by Arnold Swartzanegger (probably not spelt right), who travels back in time to kill the leader of the resistance, John Connor, before his birth by killing his mother. A member of the resistance manages to come back to warn her only to realise he was to be John Connor's father.

In the 1990's a highly successful sequel, inventively entitled "Terminator 2", showed the machine's second attempt to kill John Connor, this time as a child but with an upgraded Terminator who is made of a liquid metal who is harder to kill. Arnie returned as a reprogrammed Terminator sent by the resistance to protect him. It quickly became a classic.

In 2003, a now quite aged Arnie, returns as yet another reprogrammed Terminator in order to stop another upgraded (and female) Terminator. The rise of the machines had been delayed by the actions in the second film (mainly because it was supposed to have been in 1997) but it seems that it was supposed to happen today. There's some bad news. Amidst the whole mechanical take over John Connor, who is now in his early twenties, meets with the woman he is apparently going to marry.

Can fate be delayed again? Watch the film to find out - I really don't want to spoil this one for you. Unlike the first and second films, technology has finally reached a point where the damage to Arnie looks almost real. There's no point at which you think "Okay, that's obvously not Arnie" even though you know it cant be.

With tonnes of action, an absolutely gorgeous female Terminator and less learning to be human by Arnie this film is a fine addition to the Terminator line and hopefully the next (if they make another) will be even greater but quite different.
