Bruce Willis and Colin Farrell star in what seems on the surface to your standard Courtroom drama set in a 2nd world war prisoner or war camp. Towards the beginning of the film there is quite a lot of action as they show how Lieutenant Hart gets captured, the conditions he is subjected to and the reality of the war. A black man is executed for allegedly plotting to escape and soon one of the racist soldiers is found dead, murdered by the only other black man in the American barracks. But all is not as it seems on the surface.
A touching film which shows how awful racism was and can be. It also shows the depths to which the allied forces had to delve to win the war, even abandoning the values which they are fighting for. Worth a peek.
