So here we have the first of this year’s comic book blockbusters. Following the success that Spider-man and X-men received on their release, I was very surprised that one of these types of films would be rated 15. The other thing that I noticed was that the cinema was practically empty, strange since the film had only been out for just over a week (but then it was the Monday late showing).

Daredevil is the deaf super hero, his powers are little more than his heightened and trained senses because of the accident he had as a child. The murder of his father left him alone and searching for justice at all costs, though his methods do often leave the guilty dead. The problem comes after he tries in vain to save his girlfriend’s father from the evil (yet strangely cool), ‘Bullseye’ though ends up implicated in his murder.

She goes after revenge and ultimately dies, which is a strange twist in this type of film. The action is continual though some of the action scenes look a bit silly.

However, a good film, Time well spent.
