Consider the problems that might be caused if the core of the Earth stopped spinning. Electrical storms which rip apart cities, a breaking down of the Earth's protective magnetic layers, spontaneous deaths of people within a local radius and many other astonishing things including attacks by pigeons in well known foreign cities. How might you sort out something like that?
Well we could go into the core and throw in some bombs? but how is that possible? forget all that for a second and just assume that we could. Then you have the film. Despite the inplausability of the storyline, it makes for an interesting film where you can play a guessing game as to who will die next. The effects are brilliant, but I still dont understand how they managed to leave the ship at the depth they were at!
