Reese Wetherspoon, star of Legally Blonde, plays a designer who is about to “make it” in New York city. Her boyfriend has just proposed and all that she has to do is go home to Alabama and sort out a few little things. One of which is to finally get a divorce from her husband, but will he let her do it? But the real question is who actually has the problem, him and the ‘backward” community or her?
A touching film, total chick flick, but not your classic love story where there is a bad guy and a good guy. In fact both are nice and someone therefore has to get hurt. Not too predictable but not too complicated either. Some humour which was welcome but not the smutty humour that the industry is wrought with these days. I’d recommend it.
