A Duncan Steed Review
This film is very unusual. Being an animated film with a Disney-style look, and having a sentimental and christmassy theme, you'd kind of expect it to be quite cutesy and aimed at a family audience. And I did expect it to be pretty tame, which is why I spent most of the film trying to come to terms with just how much stuff you can put in a 12-certificate film these days. Even after reading this (which most of you aren't) you'll probably still spend most of the film saying things like "Nooo! He can't say that! It's a twelve!". But you'll be laughing while you say these things, so that's ok.
Of course, it's very well animated, but then every animated movie is, and the main character looks so much like Adam Sandler (the voice actor for him) that it's scary. It is a very funny movie, and I loved it, though Sarah probably wouldn't.
So basically, if you're in the mood for a good non-cheesy Christmas movie to get you in the mood or just make you laugh, it's great. If you want to take little young people to see it, even better, because they'll love it too, and gain the educational value of learning a lot more naughty words. But you'll probably get in trouble for taking them.
Movie quote (sung to an amputee with a hook for a hand as the last line of one of the movie's big musical numbers): I wonder if that guy's ever wiped his ass with the wrong hand...
