Shrek is the best film I’ve seen in a long while. It’s got to be up there with the greats! Shrek is the unlikely hero in this tale because he is a smelly ugly and unpleasant ogre but when Lord Farquaad starts throwing all the fairytale creatures into his swamp.

He must do something about it. So he walks to the castle with his annoying little companion (a talking ass) to get the lord to throw the creatures elsewhere. He agrees if he’ll go and find him a princess so that he can become a prince.

The storyline is warped and the jokes very nearly push it into 12 territory but they are so subtle that a kid wouldn’t understand it. It features the voices of all the greats, Eddie Murphy, John Lithgow, Cameron Diaz and of course Mike Mysers. A film that is bound to get anyone giggling if not hysterical with laughter!
