Over the last few years Disney have produced precious few all new films, favouring instead a seemingly endless line of sequels to their best loved films. Most of these films end up going straight to video. However the sequel to one of their best ever films, The Jungle Book, was not only released in the cinema but it also did quite well. Never the less it has already found its way to video.

We find Mowgli, the man cub, living in the human village where he has been generally well accepted. The only problem is that he really isn't used to following the rules and would love to show Shanti, the girl he followed into the village at the end of the first film, the jungle. Mehnwhile in the jungle Baloo is really missing his best friend, duets aren't much fun on your own! So he goes in search of Mowgli. Unfortunately the horrible Shir Kahn is after Mowgli looking for a little revenge!

With most of the characters of the first film except King Luii, Jungle Book 2 is well worth a look if you are in a silly mood or are just a big fan of the first one. There are a few new songs but thankfully some of the old favourites (like the Bear Necessities) are revived with a new twist. Though it's certainly not the best thing disney have ever created (cos that is either Aladdin or The Emperors New Groove) it's definitely worth a watch if you have the time.
