Van Helsing aided by a bumbling side-kick and the last of a family who swore to kill Dracula.
Firstly, if you are looking for a serious Vampire Slaying movie, this will not be your kind of film. To be honest, even Buffy the Vampire Slayer is more serious than this one. This film does for Vampires what The Mummy did for Mummies. The reason, a common Director, who likes to stir things up, make things scarier. Apparently, this was based on a book (as many of these things are) and it is far more over the top than the book. The Director has made it more over the top because bats just don't scare him, huge demons with wings do.
It's not as silly as a spoof, and there is a lot of action, but not much gore, so you can take the kids along if you wish. If you liked the book, you may be disappointed.
