The legend of Troy is braught to life in this modern day interpretation. Complete with wooden horse and Acchilles Heel the film shows the battle for Troy, the impetrable fortress braught down by the nievete of it's leader. It's only something you do once, bring in a wooden horse, as Dave Lister put it, "just large enough to house 40 greeks in full battle dress and leave adequate space for toilet facilities".
I kept expecting a happy ending but alas there was none. Acchilles played by Brad Pitt, was an arrogant ruthless killer, that is until a certain young maiden comes along. Legolas (sorry Paris) inadvertently starts the war when he runs away with the Greek leader's wife, Helen. In fact the only one who doesn't make any revenge attacks, his Legolas' big brother and even he ends up dying!
Alas, if you are looking for an uplifting movie then look elsewhere, if you are looking for superb battles, then I suggest Lord of the Rings. I didn't hate it, but it went on a bit too long and wasn't special enough to leave me wanting more. But if you already know the story and are interested in how it will be portrayed then this is for you. If you like Bloom or Pitt then this will probably be one for you too but if you want a truly good action flick, I'd not recommend this one.
