Surprisingly, Scary Movie 3 was actually quite funny. Unlike it's predecessors it relied on far more basic slap-stick humour and less gross out comedy, though it couldn't escape it fully. This change in direction may have come about due to a change in direction, from the Wayans Brothers to David Zucker who directed such spoof films as "the Naked Gun".
For those who haven't seen the first two movies (Even I didn't bother with Scary Movie 2), their plots (or lack there of) are completely irrelevant. Only two familiar faces appear, that of Cindy Cambell and her best mate (pictured above). You will, however need to have seen Signs, 8 Mile, The Matrix, The Others, 6th Sense (possibly) and The Ring to understand fully the gags. Having not seen "8 Mile" a certain amount of the film illuded me, but then the rest more than made up for it.
Another credit to this movie is the introduction of spoof superstars Charlie Sheen and Leslie Nielson, who plays the neurotic president.
With far more, falling over and people accidentally hitting other people than the others, it's a lot less crude. However it's still doesn't hold a torch to films like "Robin Hood: Men In Tights" and "Hot Shots" which are by far the best spoofs ever made.
