Things are more or less back to normal in the sleepy town of Radiator Springs, that is of course except that it is now the home of Piston Cup winner Lightning McQueen (Owen Wilson) and his team.

When McQheen is challenged to an international race competition, he and his pit crew fly to Japan for the first race where Mater, McQueen's Hillbilly best friend, accidentally gets mistaken for an American Spy. The plot thickens as the racing cars explode one by one, and the saftety of the eco friendly prototype fuel they are using comes into question.

This is a fun film with some truly funny moments and a truly interesting storyline. It is a totally different film from the first Cars film, so there will understandably be those who wouldn't have enjoyed it as much.

Mater takes the lead in this film with special guest voice Michael Caine who plays one of the agents. This may not be quite the same as the first film but it expands the Cars Universe in a totally different direction - and I loved it.

One for the young, the young at heart and any car lovers. One to see!
