Shrek was a lonely ogre who thrived on being hated by the local villagers, that was until the Lord Farquad started dumping fairytale creatures in his swamp and he met Fiona.
Since that day his life has been turned upsidedown and on his babies' first birthday he freaks out completely. Wishing that for just one day he could have his old life back.
Enter Rumplestiltskin, a power hungry midget who's attempt at controlling Far Far Away had been unwittingly thwarted by Shrek some years earlier. He grants Shrek's wish in return for a day from Shrek's past, one he wouldn't even remember.
A wish that changes the world for everyone Shrek knows and cares about, especially Fiona, who was never rescued.
Expect all the usual fun and frolicks from the Shrek team, but unlike the third instalment, a much more cleverly woven storyline.
I enjoyed this film, even despite the vast majority of the jokes having been in the trailor. One to see, for sure.
