In 1950s New Orleans, a young girl has the dream of owning her own restaurant. The problem is that she can't afford it, despite working two jobs each day she is still a long way off her dream.
Meanwhile, a Prince comes to town and falls for the ploys of an unscrupulous voodoo doctor. Before he knows what's going on, he's just a few inches tall and covered in mucus.
By chance he ends up in the main girl's room, although she's getting changed at a friend's house for a fancy dress ball. He convinces her to kiss him and lo and behold she is transformed into a frog too.
So their quest is simple, they have to find out how to undo their curse and learn how they both have their priorities wrong along the way.
It is a modern day classic and the first Disney film in years to return to non-computer generated graphics. With a host of catchy songs and some lovable characters this should be held up there with the other Disney classics. It may not be an Aladdin but it's certainly one that kids will love.
My only criticism is that at times it is really quite dark and some younger viewers will probably be scared by that. It's also on a bit of dodgy ground since it messes with the occult. However, its no more than most Disney classics do.
