In the early 20th Century a man comes home to attend the funeral of his brother who has been mauled to death under suspicious circumstances.
The locals seem to be spouting all kinds of nonsense about a wild animal on the loose and blame the gypsies for letting one of their wild animals loose. When the main chracter decides to try to catch the creature he ends up being severely injured and hospitalised.
Everyone is shocked when he makes a quick and full recovery within days. When further attacks take place, the local police seem suspicious of him, but he soon learns why.
The film is very predictable and although the effects are probably better than the 1940s original they are still let down by what is a terrible plot. Most scary childrens stories are less predictable than this.
If you enjoyed the original or like tacky horrors then you'll love this - but for me, it was a big let down.
