If you've seen a zombie film before then you'll know how many cliches they have in them. This film, however, is a very funny mick take of the zombie film genre in a similar but different way to Shaun of the Dead.
The main character starts the film by giving us a run down of some basic rules that will allow you to stay alive during a zombie invasion. This sequence is probably the most cliched and bloody part of the film and yet the comedy used here is continued throughout the whole film.
The main guy is the lone survivor from the people he knows, but then he was a bit of a nerd anyway, so he didnt know many people. When he meets a guy from down South (Woody Harrelson), they agree reluctantly to stick together, but to avoid complications they agree to not swap names. Could make things harder, should one of them get bitten.
As the travel around, searching for twinkies, which seem to be rather elusive. They meet a couple of girls, the younger of which has been bitten, apparently. Well, thats what they are led to believe until they steal their guns and their car.
This film is a breath of fresh air, it doesnt fall into the genres cliches and manages to stay lighthearted throughout despite, whilst maintaining a good albeit simple, plot.
If you don't mind gore, a bit of swearing and like a laugh then this one is for you. I will want to see this one again at some stage.
