Will Ferrell (Anchorman) plays Rick, a laughing stock who can only get work teaching thanks to his absurd theories of space and time. After having given up on his idea, the arrival of a girl who believes his theory sends them on a trip to a place where they suspect a portal may exist.

To everyone's surprise, especially that of the fairground ride operator who gets pulled into the adventure by accident, they land in a desolate land where artifacts from various times have been stranded.

Very soon they are running for their lives from dinosaurs and aliens, led by the totally inept Rick who somehow thinks he knows more than he does.

Farrell is really funny and the film itself is a barrel of laughs from start to finish. It's relatively predictable and the effects are moderately good, but then the film knows its only a bit of fun, so thats ok.

So, if you're up for a laugh this is one for you!
