Chris Evans (not the ginger radio DJ - the one from Fantastic Four), has the ability to move things with his mind, but not very well. When a thirteen year old girl (Dakota Fanning, War of the Worlds) turns up at his door and tells him that she'd had a vision with him in and that they were both gonna die unless they met up with this girl, he is understandably skeptical.
But after an incident with some guys who have some kind of sonic shouting which pierces the eardrums and breaks all the glass, and another encounter with someone who can read the future, he decides to go along with it.
This film is a bit like Heroes, but doesn't bother to try and explain anything. We're just expected to buy the fact that this stuff just happens (not unlike Jumper in that respect). In terms of storyline it is sufficient and good enough to keep me interested for the duration of the film. I wouldn't be surprised if this is the first of a trilogy of films.
Worth watching, but not priority viewing.
