Wesley has a terrible job. His best friend is sleeping with his girlfriend and he's totally broke. Then out of the blue a mysterious woman introduces herself in a convenience store. Before he knows it she and another man are having a full scale gun battle. After the car chase he finds himself surrounded by trained assassins who tell him that his Dad was killed the previous night and that he is the only one who can stop him.

So after righting a few wrongs in his own life, he returns to be trained as an assassin - by taking repeated beatings and learning to curve bullets but all is not necessarily what it seems.

There is a lot of good, albeit OTT, action in this film, which when combined with Angelina Jolie was always going to be a successful concept for a movie.

However, it is the odd plot that made me laugh. The assassins decend from an ancient order known as the Weavers, who discovered a code hidden in the fabric being weaved. The names of the targets is derived from binary from missed stitches in the fabric. That's an odd concept, right?

Aside from the plot development which just made me laugh and The Matrix style action in the real world - which doesn't quite make any sense, the film was alright. Quite a bit of bad language, but considering that it is was an 18, it wasn't as bad as it could have been.

If you like action, blood and aren't really bothered about an implausible storyline, then you'll enjoy this film - but don't expect anything all that special.
