A flat-broke, but ridiculously intelligent, nerd at MIT in the states learns of a lecturer-led card counting team. After they beg for him to join the team, he reluctantly agrees in order to make some quick bucks to pay his way into medical school.
But all too soon the fake personas he plays on his weekend trips to Vegas, where he is a high rolling stud, start to affect his real life attitude back on campus.
This was quite a slow film to be honest and could have been told adequately in half the time. The storyline is rather simple and could probably have done with more twists, but it was interesting enough to keep me amused for most of the time.
Quite early on, one of the concepts discussed in the classroom got me thinking - simply because logically it didn't make sense to me. If you watch the film and are of average intelligence, like me, then you'll probably come out thinking the same thing.
Not one I'd rush out to buy or anything, but not a night badly spent by any means.
