A long time ago in a galaxy exactly like ours, well - more or less depending on your view of history, lives a tribe of early people. They live in the North and for much of the year survive in the harsh Arctic climate in tipees and living off the carcusses of the Woolly Mammoths that they hunt.

Their elder, a crazy looking hippy old woman, forsees the coming of the blue eyed woman, who would be the wife of the promised great leader and whom would single-handedly kill a Mammoth. Lo and behold, she arrives and the son of the traitor ends up accidentally killing a Mammoth by himself.

However, when a strange tribe come and ransack the village taking some of the best fighters and the most beautiful women captive (including the blue-eyed woman) there is a chance to proove himself worthy of being called a leader. So he sets off in pursuit of those they deem to be "Gods" or "Demons".

En route they encounter some giant birds, which are probably there to reinforce the evolutionary link between birds and dinosaurs - since initially we all thought "Is that a raptor?" and also a sabre tooth tiger, as well as other human tribes that had been attacked by the invaders.

After crossing what was clearly a dessert and following a long river, they arrive at what is clearly Egypt, albeit still under construction using Woolly Mammoths to pull some of the bigger lumps of rock.

It's an odd concept for a film, clearly influenced by current scientific theory about prehistoric man, but still drawing upon all the modern epic film cliches. The damson in distress, the hero reluctantly finding is calling and the badies getting their comeuppance.

For a film so clearly influenced by scientific dogma, the inclusion of our trippy pre-cog and a small amount of magic, seemed a tad out of place but whatever.

As films go, it was alright, nothing to write home about but worth a watch if there's nothing else that catches your eye.
