When he falls through the ice of a frozen lake only to find himself in a local library surrounded by what are now water damaged books, David realises that he can escape his mundane life. So following a simple bank robbery he is set for life. A life where he can spend the night with a woman in London, then do some surfing off the coast of Fiji before having a picnic in Egypt.
All would be fine, were it not for an ancient religious group intent on eradicating every Jumper from the planet - believing that God alone should be omnipresent. A group with the technology to be able to track down, capture and kill jumpers.
So while David (Hayden Christensen, Star Wars) just wants to see the World with his girlfriend (Millie), these people want to track him down and kill him. They'll go to any lengths to achieve it.
This was a fun and interesting film with some interesting special effects. The talent of fellow Star Wars actor Samuel L Jackson was probably under-used since his character didn't really have any plot development at all. The casting of relative newcomer Rachel Bilson, in the lead female role was, however, a good choice.
Christensen was different enough as a character to not remind you too much that he was Anakin, though there were some similaries in his performance when he was fighting or shouting.
The way this film is left strongly suggests that the writers are building this into a trilogy, but without any obvious hints or the cheesy "to be continued..." writing that some films seem to think necessary. If another installment comes out, I'd certainly see it, after all it's a very short film anyway.
