Average Joe's Gym is under threat from a bigger rival gym because the owner (Ben Stiller) wants more car parking space. Joe (at least i think that's his name, played by Vince Vaughn) runs the small gym, which is home to sport's losers, freaks and geeks who never the less give it a go. Stiller's Gym is a big bad multi-national gym which makes people work harder by using every trick in the book to make you feel fat.

When Joe refuses to give in, going for the longest shot in the book, entering his regulars into the 'dodgeball' championships for the £50,000 prize money he needs to pay off his mortgage.

I was expecting to hate this film based upon ye olde trailor, yet I gave it a chance and came out smiling. Some of the jokes are below the belt and others are just plain awful but it had enough to keep me there and laughing. Stiller is great in his role, though quite frankly disgusting, as the role required. Not bad.
