A few years ago, an archeologist and professor set out on what turned out to be a massive treasure hunt. Several years later, after the name of his great grandfather is found on a document with the conspirators in the assassination of President Lincoln - he sets out, following clues to proove his innocence.

Little does he realise that in doing so he will need to break into some of the most heavily guarded places in the world and will have to kidknap the current President - nor does he realise the enormity of what he will eventually discover; Including the book that is the Holy Grail for conspiracy theorists.

Ok, fair enough, a lot of the twists in this story are so OTT that they could only be taken seriously in a film aimed primarily at children - but it did produce a film that is interesting to say the least. I found it rather unrealistic as to just how easily they broke into the world's most secure buildings. If these buildings really were this insecure then terrorists would find things really quite easy to take out their prime targets.

I also found it quite inconsistent in how intelligent the main character (Nicholas Cage) was. One minute he could decipher a very cryptic clue written in another language, and the next he couldn't work out a way to keep a door open.

But, none the less, this was a fun family film and as sequels go it wasn't bad. A tad over-the-top at times, specifically in the giant balancing tower scene. I enjoyed it, but I doubt it will be at the top of my films to buy on DVD list.
