Adam Sandler (50 First Dates and The Wedding Singer) and Kevin James (King of Queens and Hitch) star as Chuck and Larry a couple of firefighters in New York. Having recently lost his wife, Larry wants to change things so that if anything were to happen to him - his children would inherit everything. Due to a loophole in the system though he can only do this if he gets married.

With no women on the horizon he turns to his best friend and asks him if he'd mind technically being his gay partner so that he can make the change. Chuck, a serial womaniser reluctantly agrees.

When the government turn up to do some checks, they suddenly need to do far more than sign a piece of paper to convince them they are, in fact, a legitimate gay couple. Of course having the gorgeous Alex (Jessica Biel) as their attorney doesn't make that very easy for Chuck.

I must admit that I was happily surprised by this film which could very easily have become very crude and also intolerant toward people's religious views. All of the jokes and even underlying themes were ones that I could stand by and laugh at.

I saw this film a few weeks ago now, but I remember being repulsed by the protesters and their homophobic slurs.

As you know I am a Christian - but I disagree with this kind of protesting in the name of Jesus. Taking a stand against one thing by threatening violence and showing a complete lack of love is certainly not a biblical stance.

Compared with some of the other films I've seen recently this is definitely one to see. This autumn's comedies have been of a low standard so far - except for Run Fatboy Run which was superb!

All in all - not a bad film but not one i'm likely to buy
