When I saw the trailor for this one, I suspected that the best bits would have been in the trailor and I was right.

Seth and Evan, the main characters, are just about to graduate from high school. Having never been all that popular they spend most nights around each others houses drinking copious amounts of alcohol and playing video games.

Despite everything, some girls start paying them attention and they jump at the chance to look cool. One of the girls is throwing a party and asks Seth if he'll get them the alcohol. He agrees assuming that his friend Fogell will be able to get it with the fake ID he's just got.

They go ahead with their plan, but when they see Fogell being interviewed by the police following a robbery and assault while they are away, they presume that he's been arressted for trying to buy alcohol.

After Seth is knocked down by a car, the driver who is keen to avoid police involvement agrees to take them to a party where they can score some free booze where they get mixed up in all kinds of trouble. Meanwhile Fogell, known to the police as McLovin because of the name on his fake ID, becomes best mates with them and accompanies them to a number of call-outs.

I can honestly say that I think I laughed perhaps once in the whole movie - had I not seen the trailor that might have been towards 6 times but I already knew the jokes and they weren't all that funny in their full context.

Having never really been a fan of this American Pie 'get your end away' kind of movie - I went into the film not expecting much - which usually means that if the film does something even remotely well I come out not feeling it was a complete waste of time.

I didn't leave the cinema during the performance although I certainly did think about it. What was so bad? For one the constant punctuative use of the F word, another was the ridiculous immaturity of these characters and their absurd ideas of how life really is.

One positive I can draw from this film was that the main characters did learn the true meaning of friendship - they did end up doing the right thing and not taking advantage of the girls they 'liked' while drunk - though one of them not by choice.

I realise that the film merely mirrors a culture where sleeping around is 'the norm' and that excessive drinking is not only acceptable but desirable and that these characters are just such products of this society - but films like this perpetuate it and make it more acceptable - if that's even possible at this point.

The much more disturbing thing for me were the policemen, who not only drank while on duty but also drove very blatantly under the influence. This is a dangerous thing to depict in a movie aimed at teens because, like it or not, it sends the message that this is okay.

This was probably the least funny comedy I have seen all year and beats even Knocked Up for the title of worst film of the year. If you liked American Pie and such films then you'll no doubt like this one too - but it was really, really, really not my cup of tea.

One thing it did was live up to it's title...
