Jerry Seinfeld is soon to be school graduate Barry B Benson but he isn't satisfied with the prospect of going into honey production - a job he would have to do until he dropped dead. Life for bees, it seems, isn't all that fun - even if they do work rollercoaster rides into daily life.
He wants to get out and see the world - so he does and he disobeys one of their society's strictest rules "Don't talk to Humans" and in doing so starts a series of events that lead to mankind being sued for stealing their honey.
You could tell that this was from the creators of Shrek, partially due to the number of Bee puns and partially because they really weren't afraid to be totally 'off the wall' when it came to plot twists. Some of the plot twists showed a major misunderstanding of how pollination works - but perhaps that was deliberate given how short the lifespan of a bee is.
This was a really funny film, with plenty to keep the whole family laughing. If anything let it down it was probably the style of the CG - considering how good CG has got of late I think the animation was a bit rushed - or perhaps they like the creators of The Incredibles decided to deliberately go for the more cartoony approach.
All the same, it was a good film and one I would recommend.
