My Super Ex-Girlfriend © 20th Century Fox

As almost a combination of the last two films I saw at the cinema (Superman and The Break Up), My Super Ex-Girlfriend is amazingly witty, funny and not too smutty.

Luke Wilson plays your average nice american guy, looking for Miss Right but, wounded by past relationships, not all that eager to start dating again. Spurred on by his horny friend he decides to introduce himself to a girl who seems to be the librarian type on the train.

Despit an initial rejection, a date ensues and despite his better judgement they end up dating. But this girl isn't just jour mild mannered Jenny Jones, she has a secret identity as the super hero G-Girl.

But soon it's all too much for him, she is the jealous type and when your girlfriend has super powers, it's best not to get her annoyed. After their break up his car soon finds itself in orbit.

It doesn't end there though, his new relationship soon becomes rudely interrupted prompting his new love to ponder "Why did G-Girl just throw a shark at you?"

Luke Wilson and Uma Thurman play their parts well but Anna Farris (Scary Movie) plays her role very well indeed, proving that she can play other roles than the ditzy blonde she usually takes. Eddie Izzard (Mystery Men) also steals the show as Prof. Bedlam the super villain.

This was a surprisingly good film and one I'm now very glad I saw.
