A few years ago a Mammoth, a sloth and a sabre toothed tiger teamed up to return a human child to its "herd". It was a nice tale set in the Ice Age and filled with clever little jokes that gave the adults something to laugh at too.

Now they are facing extinction because the Ice is beginning to melt. The valley in which they live is surrounded by glaciers but the ice is wearing thin and a lake is about to pour through. They must reach the "boat" in time.

Aside from extinction Manny (the Mammoth) is feeling lonely and wonders if he is the last of his kind. When he meets a confused 9 tonne possum he is filled with all kinds of confusing questions.

In the first movie the best scenes were of Scrat, the acorn obsessed squirrel. Thankfully this film is packed full of Scrat scenes and he's on top form once again. I'd be surprised if Scrat didn't end up with his own TV spin off series to be honest.

It's a cool (get it) film with more of the same kinds of humour as the original. But you don't need to have seen the first to get this one, so there's no excuses for not seeing it!
