This film has an impressive cast list: Bruce Willis, Morgan Freeman and Lucy Liu to name but three of them. However sometimes when so much time has been spent on the cast the plot is overlooked. That isn't a problem here though.
Slevin has been mugged, dumped and evicted all on the same day. When he arrives at his friend's house he finds the door open and nobody home. After an encounter with the neighbour (Lieu) he is visited by a couple of gangsters who force him to come visit their boss though he's wearing nothing but a towel. His friend owes him a lot of money and demands that he find the money in the next few days. If he can't pay then he can instead do him a favour; Kill his nemesis' son.
After he is dropped home by the the gangsters, low and behold he is visited by some more. His friend also owes them money, but at least now he is dressed. After some soul searching he decides to take the deal and kill the son, but when the police get involved things start to get even more confusing.
All is not as it seems in this film, there are a lot of hidden twists and this does, at times, make it confusing. However the style of the movie is very clever and the plot makes perfect sense in the end. If you like clever action movies then you'll love this one.
