As is the story in many sci-fi movies Aeon Flux is set in the future following a catastrophic event that wiped out all but a pocket full of the human race. The survivors live in, what should be an idyllic paradise but there are people who are unhappy with its leaders (so what else is new!)
Aeon Flux is her name and she is one of those who is unhappy with the "Goodchild" regime. The Goodchild's were the ones who came up with the vaccine for the virus. But when she is about to assassinate the leader she is stopped in her tracks. Somehow he recognises her and she him.
Some of the effects in this movie are cool, others confusing and some just make no sense. One character has had her feet replaced with a second set of hands. They have trees which shoot poinsonous darts at people and grass that has its own metal spikes.
There is, thankfully, more to this story than it initially seems. Some of the scientific advances are absolutely rediculous and others just a stones throw from reality. I have mixed feelings on this film, in some ways its a fun movie with some interesting new concepts but in other ways its just too far fetched.
