CS Lewis' classic book series "The Chronicles of Narnia" have been attempted a few times, but due to the available special effects they have been disappointing visually. Now redone for the big screen the tale is braught to life in a way never before possible.
"The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe" follows the lives of four children sent to the countryside during The Battle of Britain so that they would not be injured. Whilst having a game of hide and seek, the youngest child Lucy, wanders through a magical portal hidden in a wardrobe to an icy world known as Narnia.
Her arrival, which had been prophecied comes as something of a surprise. Soon enough the other children end up in Narnia and a battle ensues.
The story echoes the Christian story through a fantasy world as CS Lewis skillfully wrote it. There is a bit of a cheese factor in this movie and it does sometimes feel like it has copied Lord of the Ringsa tad. However, it is a delightfully retold story with lovable characters and a good plot.
