Although this is unashamedly the latest in what has become a long line of former tv series to get the Hollywood touch, this one doesn't go for the straight forward updated version approach.
No, this film instead is about the filming of a new series of 'Bewitched' in which they have accidentally cast a real witch as the main character. Of course, her costar sees this as a platform back into the big time and wants her role played down as much as possible. He doesn't want this nobody stealing his limelight.
However, they find themselves falling for each other despite his pigheadedness. Of course Isabel (the new Samantha) is a witch and gets revenge on him somewhat, only to realise that to do so would be wrong.
This is a laugh out loud comedy (as Sarah aptly proved) and Will Ferrell is his usual funny self, in fact providing one of the best performances I've seen him do yet. Nicole Kidman was cheesily on form, a perfect choice for the leading lady.
Steve Carrell (Brick Tamlin in Anchorman) also makes a cameo appearance as the mirror dwelling uncle, providing the one car chase in the film. All in all a good film, sometimes a tad too cheesy, but one I'd happily watch again.
