I was extremely sceptical about this film, I thought that it would be taken seriously and ruined. When the enemies are super sized spiders and you take it seriously, then you get a tacky b-film. However, when you take the mick out of yourself and other similar films from the word “go”, it works.
It’s the usual story, toxic waste falls into the wild and a scientist finds that feeding his spiders with crickets contaminated with the waste makes them grow exponentially. A few weeks later a boy finds the scientist’s lab and finds that it is covered in huge webs. Nobody believes him and hey knew that they wouldn’t.
“Nobody ever believes the young kid”.
Then, suddenly people keep getting attacked by over sized spiders and people are forced into believing him. It’s a great film which left me giggling moronically all the way through. Just don’t try to take it seriously.
