This is a new area for Will Smith and yet he fits the role really well. Smith plays 'Hitch' who is a 'dating doctor' for men with no confidence. He chooses his clientelle really specifically, aimed at those who are literally just too shy, clumsy or anything. The only proviso is that they already be in love.

When he meets the girl of his dreams, he finds that he is unable to follow some of his own advice. So how is it that his advice was ever helpful? As with many films in the romcom genre things get complicated due to miscommunication and but in the end love conquers all. It's a funny feel good movie that anyone who likes romantic comedies will appreciate, with possibly more for the guy than your average romantic comedy. Smith is good, as usual. His supporting cast, including Doug form 'King of Queens' is also spot on.
