Do you remember DareDevil, a few years back? You should do because that was a quality film. His love interest was a character known as 'Elektra', also a comic book heroine in her own right. A bit of storyline editing later (as any comic book fan will know) and the Elektra movie was produced.
Elektra, played by Alias' Jennifer Garner who looks grorgeous in her red costume, is the same resurrected character from DareDevil though they make few references to it. Then again, it's not strictly speaking a sequel but a spin off. It's what the Scorpion King is to The Mummy Returns in that respect.
So what does Elektra choose to do with her new life? Contract killing is the obvious next move, though it never explains exactly why. Her new assignment happens to find her meeting up with ER's Dr Covatch and her teenage daughter.
Soon she becomes entangled in the epic struggle of good vs evil, fighting against an array of enemies with powers far in excess of her own, but all of whom die far too easily for my liking, disappearing in a puff of green smoke.
All in all rather disappointing but still worth a look if you are a fan of Jennifer Garner or fancy a martial arts film.
