David Bliss, up and coming DJ superstar and Google street mapper, has made a certain Burton lady very happy today as they wed in Bethel Baptist Church in Whitchurch, Cardiff.
It was a very fancy affair as all the guests arrived in Tuxedos and ballgowns in the now quite modern church building. As the guests took their seats and each in turn asked the Groom whether he was nervous, he started to wonder whether he should be.
Aided by his faithful ushers, including the Rt Hon Mark Strange and Best man, Daniel Burton they waited patiently for the bride to arrive (while a pregnant Sue darted around lighting candles and turning on fairy lights.
As Rebecca Burton made her final entrance, the room got to its feet and watched as a true princess walked down the aisle. The absolutely massive white fairytale dress was bigger than any of the guests had imagined and it made the Burton bride a beautiful one.
The service, led by the hysterically funny Simeon Baker was a lively one, with some traditional hymns accompanied by much more modern band. With Mark and Ruth providing a duet while the register was signed the wedding went off with just one hitch - and that was supposed to happen.
The wedding service was held quite late in the day, so it was already getting dark when the newlyweds left the church. Guests hurried onto the coach that had been provided to ferry them to the city centre - a provision made in the light of the South Africa vs Wales rugby match that was being held there that same day.
The reception and party was held at the Park Plaza hotel and was certainly a Bliss choice. A very modern hotel with toilets that automatically flush and over-eager taps that fire water out like geisers.
The black and white theme was a novel choice for a wedding, but one that ultimately made sense. The banquet consisted of Salmon, Lamb and profiteroles. Profiteroles that had been arranged into a giant profiterole wedding cake and had to be cut using a sword.
The speeches were effective, heart warming and most of all, funny and not in too crude a way either. All this was followed by DJ Bliss' automated discotheque - all cued up in advance of the party by the groom himself.
As the night drew to a close, it was clear that both bride and groom had had a great day and even more crucially, that they couldn't wait to spend their lives together.

Dan and Sue Burton are happy to announce that their first child is now well on the way. For the couple who have been married for several years and who moved to Whitchurch so that they could be near the right school, this was no real surprise.
The child, which is due on Dave (The Doive)'s birthday next year is healthy and growing at a good pace. More information to follow in the coming months

Mother of five, Kay Burton has succeeded in besting all her children by attaining a first class BA degree in Accounting at South Wales' University of Glamorgan.
Mrs. Burton, who used to work as a Chemistry teacher at Cardiff High School, decided to take her career in a new direction just 3 years ago after she started doing the accounts for Radyr Baptist Church in her spare time.
Not only did she get a first class honours degree but she was also surprised to find out that she had won an award in Auditing! Kay, who was convinced that she would be resitting at least one paper in the summer, was ecstatic to find out her results earlier this week.

Ceri Sian Burton, the artistic Burton, has been given her final mark for her degree.
She has been at South Wales' UWIC university for the last 4 years. Initially doing a foundation year in Art and then going on to study Fine Art. This last week she has been displaying her work, along with her course mates at the Howard Gardens Campus.
Doive was lucky enough to get a private tour of the exhibition by the artist herself on Wednesday evening. It was obvious even then that the work was well received with one visitor saying how clever her work was.
Her latest work has been based around the reflections in spherical objects and mirrors, producing pieces that bridge the gap between observationary and abstract art.
With the exhibit drawing to a close today, Ceri was proud to announce that she has been awarded a 2:1 in her degree. So what is next for this Cardiff-bred artist?
She is currently looking for a job for the summer, but is considering arranging a private exhibition and even doing Murals. What ever she decides to do in the future, one thing is for sure - she won't be short of paintings!

Sarah, delighted at finally having almost enough room to store her 3 million books and outfits in, moved to her new pad last week.

Dan, Burtwok, Burton has been offered a new job at Company's house. Although the new job has a lower salary than his current one, it does offer other benefits...
Since the new job is working for the government, he now gets flexi-time, more holidays including extra bank holidays and, crucially, promotion benefits.
Dan, who has loyally worked at Dacey's in Canton since graduating from Cardiff University, was head of accounts - but feels that the time has finally come to move on.

We are happy to report that Tassja and Jay have welcomed their first child, Nathan, into the world.
Tassja, who it could be said, had an uncomfortable pregnancy - having spent half of it on crutches due to her hips continually falling from their sockets - gave birth to her first son about 2 weeks ago now.
Doive Net News would like to congratulate the new parents and welcome the new Wiseman into the world.

Chris Burton, younger brother of eccentric businessman David "The Doive" Burton, and his long-term girlfriend Jenni Lewis have purchased their first home.
The house, which is in the relatively new Pontprennau area of Cardiff, is a 3 storey, 2 bed town house. With a relatively modern design which sees the ground-floor taken up mainly by the garage, the house has a good sized garden and large living spaces.
While Jenni was clearly excited about the house, it was difficult to tell whether Chris was more happy with his new house or his new monster of a TV.
"He wasn't allowed a new TV until I had a new house", explained Jenni on their first night in the property as she watched an excited Christopher unpacking his TV and setting up the surround sound in an otherwise empty room.
The couple are currently waiting for their new furniture to arrive which includes their new bed and sofa.

Liz Mallett, otherwise known as 'the Nice Mallett', was involved in a car crash in the last few weeks which resulted in the writing off of her car.
Miss Mallett (25) and her son Curtis (7) were hit by another driver whilst travelling to her home in the Newport Road area of Cardiff. Though neither was seriously hurt, Liz has since been off work suffering from back problems as a result of the crash.
The car, which will soon be on display at the local dump, was damaged beyond repair.

Did you notice? The site was down for 2 days due to a security breach at Fasthosts, the company that host us. A few months ago they had a breach but just a few days ago they started noticing that some sites were being hacked into. So as a precaution they changed all the passwords - including the one for our database and the one for uploading files.
So, thats why the site has had the lovely message "unable to select database for the last few days".

As Rachel Bartlett disappeared in a puff of smoke, never to be seen again, a clone appeared wearing an uncharacteristic white wedding dress and kissed her Wibbly groom who instantly became her husband.
In a civil ceremony, held at the Ringwood Hall hotel (not to be confused with the hugely unpopular Ringworm hall) Whitchurch High survivor Rachel Bartlett wed long-term partner Matt "Wibbly" Scales. With a reading taken from a court case, among other places, this truely was a Rachel Bartlett Wedding.
Much to the surprise of a few of the congregation she entered wearing an elegant white dress with a veil as the song "Teardrop" played on the loud-speaker. It was a short but meaningful ceremony and one that clearly meant a lot to the newlywed couple.
Many of the usual customs were observed, including the cutting of the cake, the first dance, the epic photography session and the slightly more unusual Magician. The magician, who managed to get away with "magically" pulling Cathy's bra off, was a novel and fun addition to what can become quite a tired format.
Following the sausage, mash, yorkshire pudding and roast potato dinner was the bacon and sausage buttie evening buffet - along with an alternative disco. No cheese here - rock and indie all the way. As if Mrs Scales would have allowed anything else!
So now the happy couple are enjoying their honeymoon in Italy, as Rachel attempts to cram a "learn Italian in 30 days" course into the time it takes to fly there. Congratulations to the newlyweds - may they enjoy their life together.

Nastassja Wiseman (nee Steed and Langley) and her husband Jay have announced that she is 12 weeks pregnant.
Tash, who is seriously ill in bed at the moment, is happy about the pregnancy but realises that this is a risky decision but one she is happy to take. Her first two pregnancies ended in miscarriage after the first few weeks - according to her blog.
We are happy to celebrate this announcement with her and to support her, Jay and the baby in any ways we can.

Chris Burton has recently been offered a job with Welsh Water / Dwr Cymru down in Swansea. He started yesterday with a few weeks training in their Newport Office.
Chris, who graduated from Warwick University this time last year with a Masters degree in Physics has found it difficult to find employment in South Wales. He has been supported thus far by temporary jobs, on-line poker winnings and by his ever patient girlfriend Jenni.
The job marks an important and significant milestone for Chris as he starts his postgraduate career at the water board.
"The only down side now is that not paying the water bill is a disciplinary offence"
